A little bit about us


He has managed vertical Licensing businesses with a client direct model as well as Licensing Agent model across many territories including India, Central & Eastern Europe, Russia/CIS, MENA, Africa, Israel, Turkey + EMEA as well as both International and Global markets.

Dan has worked across all brand licensing product categories, including Publishing, Apparel / Footwear, Toys / Games, FMCG, Promotions, QSR, Electronics, Stationary / BTS, Homeware, Digital, plus many high-value non-traditional categories such as Finance, Live Events and Retailers.

With extensive Licensee contacts across all key territories and product categories, Dan has travelled extensively across emerging markets on business along with more mature markets within Europe / APAC and rest of the World (54 countries and counting).

Dan has a keen passion for emerging markets, new business development and all things brand licensing.  He understands the intrinsic value of licensing Intellectual Property (IP) across multiple territories and categories to all parties from the Licensee-Licensor-Retailer & end-point Consumers.


Dan has a Post-Graduate Degree in Education & has delivered keynote presentations around the world on business, as well as for Licensing International in India, USA and South Korea.

In 2018, he founded BIG PICTURE LICENSING as a bespoke Licensing agency to help all clients identify and secure new business opportunities as well as offer licensing training modules where companies can learn the insider trade secrets of the International Brand Licensing Industry…



Dan is a Media and Brand Licensing executive with 20+ years’ experience working for a wide range of media owners from BBC Worldwide, IPC Publishing, Trinity Mirror (Reach), The Walt Disney Company, LazyTown Entertainment (Time Warner Company) and Viacom International Media Networks (ViacomCBS). Since 2010, Dan worked for Viacom Nickelodeon Consumer Products, based in London. He left the company in Oct. 2018 as Vice-President, International Licensing & Business Development.  Dan has worked across International markets in the brand licensing industry for the last 15 years and has extensive experience of establishing brand licensing businesses in developing territories and building solid foundations for sustainable revenue growth. 

In his most recent role, from 2014 - 2019 he held the role of Commercial Director of DHX Brands. In this role, Tom headed up all commercial activity for the studio on a worldwide basis. His remit included; the negotiation and day-to-day management of all directly managed categories, notably Master Toy, Publishing, Home Entertainment and Live Events; the appointment and daily management of third-party Licensing Agents across the globe, from China and South Korea to the US, Canada & LATAM; the negotiation of commercial agreements with international broadcasters; and involvement in the development of new IP.  He also oversaw the Product Development team.


Tom has worked in the licensing industry for 15+ years, having held commercial roles at ITV/Granada Ventures, IMG, WildBrain CPLG, and most recently DHX Media. During his career, he has worked across brands of all genres, most notably entertainment and sports IP. 

Tom has significant experience working both directly as brand owner, and also as third party rights representative. He has brokered and managed licensing deals in all major product categories, with extensive experience in the toy category.
